The Campground… The Nite Hawk Bar and Grill in Roosevelt has added a campground to their impressive list of things they offer the public.  Not only do they provide a bar, restaurant and banquet facility, but now they accommodate campers as well.

Owners, Ray Pederson, Richard Johnson and Ron Johnson, began construction of the campground in 2001.  Now they have 9 campsites with water and electricity complete…and are expecting to open another 15 or 16 in time for fall hunting.

The Campground at the Nite Hawk Bar and Grill provides a spacious, rustic area for campers to relax and enjoy.  Each site has plenty of room and a fire pit.  Owner, Ray Pederson says, “ At least when they camp here, we know they will not be packed in like sardines.  We want people to enjoy their camping experience.  There is no place around like this, and we hope people enjoy it.”

One unique feature the campground offers is a man-made pond.  Pederson says, “It worked out great!  We needed fill for other parts of the grounds…so we dug a pond.”  The pond has a beautiful rock border, an island, and will one day hold trout.

In the future there will 25 sites. The Nite Hawk Bar and Grill Campground will have showers; toilets and every site will have water and electricity.

With the campground located so close to both Lake of the Woods and the Beltrami Island State Forest, it is anticipated that this fall the grounds will be filled with outdoor enthusiasts participating in fall fishing and hunting.  If you have further questions please call the Nite Hawk at 442-2470.
